Reincarnation – By Phebe Jewell

I travel to work by bus everyday and this one poem very much attracted me hence sharing this on my blog.

When I am born again
make me a drum,

make me an anchor
of rhythm for your hands.

Make my song
break locks,
open windows,
fill bellies.

Play me
til I shudder and break
between your knees.

Set me afire.
Watch me spark,
rising, twisting,
to darkness.

Kudos Phebe!!

In the name of God…..

Recently I saw one of those forward emails from my friend which read “NASA proves that the bible is true”. Being a strong believer of both Science and Spiritualism I know the fact that Scientific and Spiritual thoughts can never be combined and yes this could be a highly debatable topic. Inspite of knowing this fact I wonder how could someone start fooling people through such an email thread? If this went true I don’t see a day far when NASA scientists will hold candles and incense sticks and start praying to stars and planets instead of conducting studies on them. Jokes apart, how could people do this? I respect and believe Bible, Quraan, Bhagavatgita, Ramayana, Mahabharatha coz a lot of things , though not all, written on it bring good meaning into our life. But that doesn’t mean I should force someone to believe it or keep quiet when some one does this crazy act in the name of GOD! I replied to that email saying not to forward me such things and also posting it here…… After all this is my Life seen in Different Angle.

What if?

A recent set of events that made me think what if it was done or happened in any other way?

What if……..

Indian Navy would have seized the plan of mumbai attacks by capturing the terrorists in the coast?

India stood first in the Olympic medals tally?

Slumdog millionaire was made by an Indian filmmaker?

Obama had stepped back letting Hillary contest as a republican presidential candidate?

Global economy had it’s graph exactly the opposite of it’s present?

Pakistan would really accept the fact that it needs support externally to stop itself being termed terrorist nation?

Everyone in the world become pure vegetarians for a day?

Someone somewhere finds an alternative for human brain?

Traffic lane system is made mandatory in India?

Economy wouldn’t go down? Would Satyam’s chief still confront?

Some other company released the iPhone?

Someone like laalu or thakrey were to be Indian PM?

And lastly ……………….

Google never existed?

I believe in the truth that no human being is perfect. Everyone has their own positive and negative characteristics. however offlate I have started observing a very common human behaviour which, intentionally or unintentionally, gets addicted in most of them. When I say most, it’s to an extent of 99%, so I really mean it. You might be wondering what is it? So without dragging it like Ekta kapoor’s serial let me come straight to the point. It’s all about people giving suggestions even when they are not asked to. Everyone have their own problems in life,,,so instead of trying to find a solution why poke into others business and give suggestions? The suggestion might be good/bad/intentional/unintentional/etc. Sometimes it really gets hyper when a person him/her-is facing the same issue and suggesting other person a solution. I have done this mistake several times and not sure howmany times I will do it again, but due to my sense of observation I see this becoming an addiction in human beings, hence I have learnt a lesson today, to a maximum possible extent I shall keep my mouth shut unless I am asked it. Coz on a different note every human being have their own thinking power and they should find a solution to their problems than poking nose into someone else’s business.

P.S: this post may look or read harsh to some but this is a fact, keep observing and you will soon run into a situation to understand it better!

Momentary Satisfaction

I am sure everyone must have experienced this. There would be several moments in life which may not be significant enough to pen down as moments of memory, however they bring in Momentary Satisfaction. One such example: I broke my head for several hours today rigging up a network. It even involved a lot of physical work since I had to mount few devices onto a rack and cable them across the racks. It was tiring and stressful but ONLY till that moment where I got to the console and wanted to test if all the hardwork I put in yielded in some positive result.YES! I got the output, the satisfaction that I got at that moment is really priceless. I just forgot all my stress and physical tiredness. This may not be a big achievement or something that’s significant in my career path but yet I want it, Time & again!!!!

There have been several incidents and moments in my life which has left me perplexed. It all started in my young age when I started learning how to read the time. I was always thinking why should we follow the same pattern? Why the small needle is for hour and big needle us for minutes? why can’t they be inter-changed? And several other thoughts came to my mind, though I was very curious to know, I couldn’t ask my parents or teacher since I was scared. Several such thoughts like why only father is considered head of the family? why earth is round? Why 1 has high priority(as in No.1)? Why only +ve and -ve? Why only 7 colors in a rainbow? All such questions kept tingling my brain very often. I am a person whiz curious by nature hence I get more question than others ;-) may be if you think more deep one can find answer to each one of these however I am sure that there will still be some questions which will not have answers and that’s what leaves me in a state of PERPLEXED…..

World on my Finger tips

Life as such is running on a fast track. Alarm to wakeup, see my Gannu(yes I’m spiritual), check last nights email, check the day-ahead’s schedule, get ready, pack, get onto bus, play a game of word teaser, listen to good music, check for emails, get to work, hook everything except work to ur pockets, work hard, buzz for meetings or tasks, listen to music in order to concentrate, calls from wife, time to leave office, get back into bus, read world’s news, get back home, check for missed todo’s, daily chores, dinner, time to bed, blogging on bed……Ahhhhh so much of work. I didn’t realize that therz something that’s doing 80% of the tasks these days. Yes it’s my iPhone which will take care of most of the things in my daily tasks. Only after I got it that I realized that it’s an addiction and I love this addiction. It’s got so many apps and features which makes me say it time and again
, with iPhone I have the WORLD ON MY FINGER TIPS……

Simply Seattle

Its almost 9 months since I am in this beautiful city of seattle and in these 9 months I have seen and learnt a lot about this place which is worth blogging about it.

Seattle is a coastal port city and the largest city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is located in the state of Washington between an arm of the Pacific Ocean called Puget Sound and Lake Washington, in King County – of which it is the county seat – about 96 miles (154 km) south of the Canada – United States border. The Seattle area has been inhabited for at least 4,000 years, but European settlement began only in the mid-19th century. The first permanent white settlers—Arthur A. Denny and those subsequently known as the Denny Party—arrived November 13, 1851. Early settlements in the area were called “New York-Alki” (“Alki” meaning “by and by” in the local Chinook Jargon) and “Duwamps”. In 1853, Doc Maynard suggested that the main settlement be renamed “Seattle”, an anglicized rendition of the name of Sealth, the chief of the two local tribes. Seattle was known as the “Queen City” for long time and changed its official nickname to “Emerald City”, the result of a contest held in the early 1980. Seattle is also referred to informally as the “Gateway to Alaska”, “Rain City”, and “Jet City”, the latter from the local influence of Boeing. Seattle residents are known as Seattleites.

Thats what is said on the internet, but if you ask me its a small yet a wonderful city to stay and work in. Ofcourse when I say that I have my own reasons, some of the materialistic benefits like good transportation, nice weather(if you love rain), reasonable cost of living, less pollution, etc, etc. But what makes me feel that its a nice place and city is the warmth feeling that you experience when you land in this city. I don’t know how long I am gonna stay here, i dont know what others feel but for me its a wonderful place and city to live in. Its got a culture, beauty and a charm for itself. And one can experience all the forms of nature such as Sea, Snow, Sand, mountains, rivers, lakes, volcanoes, landscapes and what more. I travel in bus everyday and so far have not felt a necessity to own a car. I am infact blogging this post while I am travelling in bus. That was a brief introduction to the city where I live now. I would end this post here however with a last statement. Seattle is also known as the birthcity for lots of world renowned companies like Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, etc, I am living with a dream that I would start something like this soon… bless me and make this post a worth reading.

Its the 61st Independence celebrations for us and marks another important year in the history of our country. There are several facts and figures to prove this point both negatively and positively however for me its important because we have covered another year successfully as an Independent Nation. There could be several topics which are debatable with respect to what we have achieved, why are we still a developing country, was the Fight for Freedom really worth, even though we are an Independent country still we are not  secure, etc, etc. And I am sure we start a poll or discussions it would be full of mixed reactions. But when you look back in these 60-61years we have made several progress on the other hand there is always a scope for improvement. I was working this morning at around11:30AM(PST -8) i started looking at the watch and suddenly a feel of what could have happened 60years ago flashed my mind and it was such a peculiar feeling. When I thought what those people would have gone through I couldnt simply sit, May be i sound too crazy or optimistic but I am true we need to do something whatever possible to make the country better so that the next generation has a better place to live in……Vande Mataram
